Unfortunately guys, for me as a college student, I was unable to survive off of 3$ a day and I’ll tell you why in this blog post. Although I thought it was a good idea to save money, after a few days it was just pretty much unbearable.
So I tried an experiment where I would basically live off of only 3$ a day.
For me, it was pretty much impossible. I only lasted about 3 days, and after that I had to start spending more than $3 a day. Really, its not worth it. I got frustrated, I got mad easily, and eventually I just buckled and decided that the experiment wasn’t a good one.
One of the big reasons I had to spend more money is that I have a girlfriend, and I didn’t want to let her know I was trying to only spend 3$ a day. I had to take her out that weekend and we ate at a pretty decent restaurant.
I ate a lot of junk food also, something I really don’t like doing. I spent maybe 2 bucks on nuggets and a double stack at wendy’s and for dinner I would eat something like 2 bowls of ramen with eggs and ham. After a few days this was driving me crazy.
I did buy groceries at the beginning, using about half of my allotted cash, but I didn’t really have anything good for lunch, and lunch usually energizes me in-between classes.
Overall I tell you guys, budget yourself but don’t make it too crazy. I tried to and it definitely didn’t work.
Sorry guys, I’ve been wanting to get a money experiment that actually works but haven’t been too successful with it.

Haha, this never works well. You might like me and my friend’s blog Beamer.

I think 3$ can work, but not every day. So buy bread (1$) for several days. Cook macaroni (4$) for 3 days. So you can live from 3$ a day, but you have to divide those dollars over the week..
Nice experiment though, and good that you didn’t liked it. Failure is also an outcome!
