So this weekend I went out and had a little bit of fun without spending a lot of money. So what exactly did I do to help me save some money?
1) Go to the theater without buying popcorn/drinks – Movie food is so expensive, but its hard to forego popcorn sometimes. A good alternative is to just sneak in your own food and drinks. So I went and watched 17 Again with a lady friend of mine on Friday night. I DID NOT sneak in any food because I was on a date. Acting cheap on a date is a big no-no.
2) Didn’t go for poker night – Face it, unless you’re good at the game, don’t play for money. I’ve lost a lot of cash playing poker so now I’ve stopped playing completely. My friend Brandon asked me to play some Poker with him on Saturday night. Instead I went out and partied at one of my frat brother’s apartment. Didn’t cost me a cent.
3) Buy off the dollar menu – Instead of getting that $6.00 meal at McDonalds, I opted for 3 things off the dollar menu for a filling meal at half the price.
4) Date didn’t include dinner – I figure that since she ain’t putting out (yet), why am I going to pay for her meal?
5) Didn’t buy coffee – I used to be a big drinker of coffee because there was a local coffee shop that many college kids went to when we wanted to study or just hang out. Now I’ve completely avoided that spot because those drinks were crazy expensive.
