Guess what guys, my poker experiment #1 is a failure. Lost my entire bankroll.
I still want to play some online poker for fun. I’ll need to read some more poker books and learn how to play a little bit better than I am playing now to really profit out of it. I think that mostly I will play the micro stakes and just have fun playing and increase my skills a little bit. As of now, poker is NOT a good way for me to make money at all (as you can see, I lost my entire bankroll in a heartbeat).
I think I am going to start a new experiment and let you guys know how that goes.
BTW, do NOT, I repeat DO NOT play on PitBullPoker.com. I actually used this site instead of FullTilt because I heard that this place was full of noobs.
That site is terrible for a number of reasons. I believe it may even be rigged.
1) Horrible payouts scheme (requires you to get a lot of money and a lot of points to cash out)
2) Not enough cash game tables are available (too many empty tables or full tables, you’ll be playing tables with 3-4 players and you’ll only be able to play 2-3 at a time)
3) Horrible software – The browser is just terrible. A lot of times I had to load the game several times before the tournament table popped up. Just avoid playing here period.
What did I learn?
Gambling isn’t the right way to earn money. For me atleast. Sure it works for professional poker players, but I think that it requires a lot of hard work and with the luck involved, I don’t think it’s worth looking into for me. I still think there are people out there who CAN make a lot of money playing poker. Just look at Phil Ivey (poker player worth over 100 million), but for the average person who can’t afford to lose $40 bucks, it’s just not a good plan.

Don’t be discouraged, there is always another great experiment just around the corner. I actually started another website just to track my personal experiments. I’d love for you to be part of it, if you are interested. The site is BrainVault.net.
