Intro to Internet entrepreneurialism

Filed under: Earning Money, Internet Written by Beamer - Texas Tech @ 2:32 am

So I wrote in my post: How I’m making money asĀ  college student that I’ve done some entrepreneurialism to make money. The Internet is wildly profitable and I will begin to give you a few pointers on how to make money on the Internet.

Now this blog isn’t really about Internet marketing. That niche is very saturated and its tough to dish out advice that some other blogger hasn’t already told. This is why I decided to make my blog about college life and survival tips. This is a much smaller niche although I’ve already found a few top competing blogs.

Now blogging isn’t really a big strength of mine. I am a newbie blogger that is just starting to blog for fun and experimenting to see how profitable this niche that I’ve found can be. However, making websites and profiting off of selling online isn’t something new for me.

I began making money online by selling templates. I had a nicely designed website that had a very nice template. Soon I got e-mails requesting that I make a custom template for them. Once I got a taste of selling my talent online, I began to realize the earning potential. Also this was before Google Adsense made online ventures infinitely more profitable.

After selling several templates I took a break and began serving ads on my websites with Google Adsense and TribalFusion, two of the major ad companies. If you look at this post, on top are my Adsense ads. Whenever a user clicks on them, I’ll receive a small amount of cash. With more visitors looking at the ads, more cash flows in. This are the basics of content-based revenue generation. If you have good information to share with the world, you can make money off of it by serving ads.

However, sometimes some niches just don’t have enough of a market and advertising supported revenue streams can’t provide a large enough income. This is when you switch to a new niche and start over. I’ve done this many times. There’s another alternative…

Product-based online revenue. A good example of this is me selling templates. If you have something that you can sell, you can make money off of it. The best things to sell are items that you can create yourself. Aside from creating templates, you can also sell an e-book. I’ve written an e-book with my friend, marketed it with Adwords, and then made big bucks by selling copies of the book.

Reselling products. Buying products in large batches and reselling them individually at a higher price is also a valid sales models. Many successful businessmen have perfected this by selling items via eBay. Personally I’ve never tried this, but it makes a lot of sense. Buying products wholesale makes each unit cheaper. Selling each unit for a larger price nets you a profit.

Stay tuned for more info on Internet entrepreneurialism later.

  4. [...] Blogs are classified into these topics in the menu: most popular posts, earning money, partying, and random fun shit. These classifications provide the right balance of fun and serious–two feelings or dilemma types every student has to face. The writer uses a not-too-formal tone that gets you interested in reading each entry. However, it isn?t so informal that you won?t take him seriously. The posts get straight to the point and offer unique but profitable advice on earning money, particularly advocating Internet entrepreneurship. [...]
