Money making experiment – Internet Classes

So in this post I am going to outline basically how I started my Internet classes. The idea came to me when I was given a free building to use. My parents run a tax business that is closed for the Summer. The idea hit me. Why not use that space for something? Maybe to hold some sort of seminar or classes. This article is part of my series on money making experiments. The introductory post can be read here.

The first thing I did was create an outline of what I hoped to teach. In this class, I decided to teach aspiring Internet marketers on how to make money online. But for people with other skills, I’m sure you can also try teaching other things. Since I’ve been pretty good at making websites and monetizing them (I’m not the #1 expert, but I do know my stuff) I decided to try and advertise some classes.

After outlining the class I decided that I would charge $20 per hour. The class would consist of about 14 lessons. Each class would also have a max of 5 students.

I advertised my class on Craigslist. For about 2 months I did not get any call backs. I looked at other websites, Eventful and Eventbrite to advertise my classes, but to no avail. I thought it was a lost cause.

It wasn’t until June 7th that I got a call regarding the class. It was from a woman who was interested in learning how to make money online.

Unfortunately, by then I had to cancel the class since no one had called me and it wasn’t worth my time to only make $20 per hour. I reluctantly told her that the class was cancelled due to no interest.

But two days later she called me back and then asked me for private lessons. She seemed really interested so I decided to take her. She also said she would introduce me to some new clients. In that case… BAM. Okay I’ll teach you.

More updates on that later. I will let you know how much money I make!
