As a college student, sometimes you’re really going to have to go ALL out in order to make ends meet. This month has been especially tough since I want to pay off my credit card balance from February (valentine’s, what can I say, I spent too much on my girl).
First of all before I get into all the things I did to earn money, I want to say that Craigslist is one of those resources that many people DON’T use to their advantage. Sure you know what Craigslist is and sure you might have looked through there before, but I can bet that not many of you have actually purchased anything or responded to a classified ad. Craigslist, however, has been great to me this past week and I actually made close to $100 this week off of Craigslist (sure you might not think its that much, but it adds up, especially for a college student).
#1) Data Entry Job at $10 per hour – Did five hours of work doing a freelance data entry job that I found in Craigslist. Data entry is boring as hell and tedious, but if you have nothing better to do then you might as well check the “Data Entry” section on Craigslist to see if you can get some work. I made $50 this week and the person who hired me has about $50 worth of work for me every week. Great!
#2) Worked at my part-time job – I’m working a restaurant on the weekends and so far it has been great. It’s not my first restaurant job (I waited at Chilis), but this one is definitely the highest paying. Made $300 in just one weekend off of tips + wage. If you’re looking to get a job in the restaurant biz, obviously the more expensive the restaurant, the better tips you’re going to get. Keep that in mind!
#3) Babysat – I responded to a Craigslist ad who said they needed a babysitter tonight. I responded not thinking I would get the job, but it turns out that I did get it and made $30 for 3 hours of babysitting. So total made about $80 off of craigslist. NICE!
Beamer is out!

Gave me a couple ideas. Thank you!
